Martha Shaka is a software developer and teaching assistant in the Department of Computer at The University of Dodoma (UDOM), Tanzania. She received her BSc. in Software Engineering from UDOM in 2015. She is also a junior computer vision researcher at ParrotAI. Martha is passionate about the growth of technology in Tanzania and building a community that applies Artificial Intelligence(AI) to solve societal problems. She is one of the co-founders of capital space which is an initiative aiming at enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship through skills development and technology in Dodoma (the capital city of Tanzania). She is currently involved in the malaria diagnosis project. This project involves designing an innovative solution for diagnosing malaria using smartphones and computer vision. Martha is volunteering in teaching programming languages to girls in public high schools and organizing local and national events inclined to AI knowledge sharing such as Annual IndabaX Conferences and UDOM AI Community.
